Leading with Heart

Everything flows from the heart. EVERYTHING. No matter how you feel about a situation, what someone said or unfair circumstance, YOU CANNOT let impurities into your heart space. Otherwise other people’s thoughts, feelings and issues (that many times have little to do with you personally) become part of your thoughts and feelings.

You can end up taking on the other person’s/people’s stressors, attitudes and attributes. And that’s not only bad for your progress, it can be bad for your health.

So I want to share with you (and I too am a work in progress) the way I (attempt to 😩) keep my heart pure:

✅ Empathy- I am intentional about viewing it from the other person’s perspective. It does not mean I will agree or won’t have objections but I can still try to understand and deliver my objections in a compassionate way.

✅ Accountability - I take accountability for the role I played in any exchange. That doesn’t mean I let myself be run over with all of the layers but I take accountability for MY PART.

✅ Action - I believe you have to take action or you’ll become bitter and frustrated trying to fit in a spaces that are not fertile and more importantly not accepting of your best gifts.

✅ Search - Search your heart and where it is trying to lead you and be intentional about it.

✅ Move - If all else fails, you are not a fixture or a statue. Find your internal locus of control and MOVE AROUND.

✅ Surround - Surround yourself with like minded people who will pour into and replenish you when your spirits are low. Let’s face it! Tough situations are inevitable and you’re going to need resilience to stay in the race!

Lastly,

✅ Trust YOURSELF- Trust what you know to be true about yourself. Only YOU, truly know what and who you are. If you have been one way all of your life and suddenly you are taken outside of yourself, you need to remember who the ____ you are and act accordingly. #isaidwhatisaid

This is a note to self just as much as it’s a note to anyone who is leading their personal ambition from their heart space.
